Having trouble with Verizon Fios or Verizon 5G Home Internet? If you need help with an existing Verizon connection, use Verizon's own support and outage tools below. If the bigger issue is your monthly bill or whether a different plan would fit better, Sky Select can help you compare new home internet options for your address.
Sky Select is an independent comparison service, not Verizon. We cannot access your Verizon account, fix an outage, change your current plan, issue bill credits, or arrange Verizon repairs. Verizon handles existing-service support. Sky Select helps people compare options for new service or switching.

New internet plan comparison — Sky Select
An increased bill or repeated connection problems may be a reason to compare your options. Sky Select can discuss other home internet providers that may serve your address, including fiber, cable and fixed wireless where available. There is no obligation to switch.

New internet service comparison only. We are not Verizon support. Availability, prices and terms vary by address.
Both are sold under the Verizon name, but they work differently. Knowing which service you have helps you understand your bill, connection issues and the alternatives worth comparing.
Fiber internet
Fios delivers internet over a fiber-optic connection to your home. Plans include 300 Mbps, 500 Mbps and gigabit-speed tiers where available, often with similarly strong uploads and downloads. If only one room has a weak signal, the issue may be your in-home Wi-Fi rather than the fiber line. Check your Fios account or Verizon's official tools to identify your service.
See Verizon Fios plans on Verizon.com (opens in a new tab)Wireless internet
Verizon 5G Home uses a cellular network and an indoor gateway. Speeds can vary with the available network, location, signal conditions and equipment. Gateway placement matters, and service may behave differently from wired fiber. A 5G Home gateway is not the same thing as the router included with a Fios fiber connection.
See Verizon 5G Home plans on Verizon.com (opens in a new tab)Fios 5 Gig is not 5G Home. “5 Gig” describes a high-speed fiber tier; “5G” describes the wireless network technology.
A reported area outage is different from a weak Wi-Fi signal at home. Checking which situation applies can save time and help you decide whether you need Verizon's help now or want to compare long-term options later.
Open Verizon's network-status checker (opens in a new tab) and follow its prompts for your service address. Verizon is the source for its reported network status and any restoration information.
If only one phone or laptop is affected, the problem may be specific to the device or Wi-Fi coverage. If every device is offline, look at Verizon's account and equipment diagnostics. A provider outage and a home Wi-Fi issue need different next steps.
For 5G Home, Verizon provides signal and restart instructions through its apps and support pages. For Fios, follow its Fios-specific checks. Restarting equipment may temporarily disconnect devices, so don't repeatedly reset it without following the relevant Verizon instructions.
If the problem remains, use Verizon's official support hub (opens in a new tab) or contact page (opens in a new tab). Only Verizon can investigate your account, arrange its own service work or decide whether an outage-related credit applies.
Sky Select cannot restore a Verizon outage. If service returns but you are still unhappy with the plan or price, you can separately explore new-service options.
A sluggish video call or a buffering TV does not automatically mean you need a more expensive internet plan. First find out whether the limitation is the internet connection, cellular gateway signal, in-home Wi-Fi or a single device.
For Verizon 5G Home, signal at the gateway and where it is positioned can affect performance. Verizon offers an app-based signal optimizer and setup instructions (opens in a new tab).
Slow speed in one room can come from Wi-Fi coverage, router position or device limitations even when the incoming service is healthy. Changing providers may not solve this alone.
If you work from home, video call, game or upload large files, compare available wired fiber, cable and wireless plans using both download and upload characteristics, not just an advertised top speed.
Wireless speeds can vary by location and network conditions. No new provider can guarantee that outages, buffering or weak in-home Wi-Fi will never occur. Compare new internet choices for your address.
If your Verizon home internet bill is higher than expected, compare this month's statement with the previous one before making a decision. Changes may involve a promotion ending, a service adjustment, an optional perk, an installation charge, a partial month or a different discount.
First: review your existing Verizon bill
Sign in to My Verizon and look at your plan name, charges, applied discounts and the date any promotion ends. Verizon's billing information (opens in a new tab) explains how to review differences between statements. Ask Verizon directly about changes to your current account or whether a different Verizon plan would suit you.
Then: compare a different new-service offer
If you want a second option, Sky Select can discuss available internet plans from other providers based on your address. Compare the full monthly cost, equipment, setup, speed needs and what happens after a promotional period. Only a verified offer tells you whether a switch would actually cost less.
Verizon offers multiple home internet product families. Fios fiber plans include advertised 300 Mbps, 500 Mbps and higher gigabit tiers where available. Verizon 5G Home has separate wireless plan levels, while LTE or Home Internet Lite products may be offered in other locations. Different products can have very different speed characteristics and terms.
The price shown in an advertisement may depend on your address, Auto Pay, Verizon mobile-service eligibility, the plan selected and current promotions. An existing subscriber may see a different bill from a new-customer advertisement. Before comparing, confirm the actual rate and terms that apply to your own account.
Verizon offers price guarantees on eligible plans, but the guarantee generally covers the qualifying base service rate, not every discount, promotion, setup or equipment charge, optional perk or third-party service. Check your plan's current terms rather than assuming the entire bill is locked.

We cannot view or negotiate your Verizon bill or make changes to your account.
Switching makes sense only if another available plan fits your household better once you consider price, connection type, installation and the quality of service at your address.
There is no universal “best provider” for every address. Comparing should help you decide, not pressure you to switch.
Don't compare a promotional headline with only the monthly amount on your Verizon bill. Compare the connection you will actually receive, its full cost and what is involved in changing service.
A provider name on a national website does not guarantee service at your home.
Check whether the new offer is fiber-to-the-home, cable, fixed wireless or another connection type.
Include taxes and recurring charges where applicable, eligible discounts, and any later price changes.
Compare download, upload, household devices and the limitations of in-home Wi-Fi.
Confirm installation needs, equipment, activation dates and whether an overlap is possible.
Review existing obligations and equipment return requirements, and coordinate directly with the relevant providers.
Provider names mentioned elsewhere on Sky Select are examples of what may be offered, not a promise that any provider serves your address or beats your current plan.
Ask about service type and real installation eligibility before considering a switch.
Look at monthly charges, discount conditions, speed, equipment, setup costs and provider terms.
Where your providers allow it, arrange the new service before you disconnect the old one. An uninterrupted change is never guaranteed.
Confirm cancellation steps, any outstanding charges, and equipment return instructions with Verizon. Sky Select cannot cancel your Verizon account.

Not necessarily. Eligible plans can protect the base monthly service rate for a stated period, while discounts, promotions, setup or equipment charges, perks and third-party services may be outside the guarantee. Read the terms attached to your specific Verizon plan.
Unlike wired fiber, Verizon 5G Home uses a wireless connection. Location, signal conditions, equipment, network and household Wi-Fi can affect performance. Verizon offers guidance for checking signal and gateway placement; an alternative provider must also be assessed for your address.
No. Fios is fiber delivered to the home; 5G Home is fixed wireless service. The two products have different speed characteristics and serviceability. 'Fios 5 Gig' is a fiber speed tier, not Verizon 5G Home.
No. Weak coverage inside a home, device limitations or router placement can cause slow Wi-Fi regardless of provider. Check whether the slowdown occurs on a wired connection or only over Wi-Fi before choosing a new plan.
Yes. You can research and discuss new internet options before cancelling existing service. Actual availability, installation steps and possible overlap depend on the providers. Confirm those details before scheduling a change.
